Developed initially to Support Hindustan Unilever i-Shakti’s value added service offerings on the kiosk based ICT network in the state of Andhra Pradesh, “Computer Basics” is an E-Learning Product designed, developed and launched by Yon Earth Interactive.
As a product that is powered in ICT kiosk networks, “Computer Basics” has attempted to build a product that gets closes to elimination the need for a “Teacher” as is in the case of most blended e-learning situations. On the i-Shakti rural network in Andhra Pradesh, “Computer Basics”has been successfully running and has been a big hit with its rural TA. Another unique feature of “Speak in English” is that it teaches rural people to speech in English, but the medium of instructions to teach is vernacular –ie Telugu in this case. Topics covered include – Introduction to Computers, Windows Operation System, Microsoft Word, Internet Surfing and E-mail.
